Misc. on the iPhone

Going from sixty gigabytes to eight and from my own system at work to someone else’s really does a number on the breadth and variety of what goes into my ears. Lately, however, I’ve been gravitating to some select portions of my limited playlist:

  • Talking Heads – Remain in Light, Little Creatures
  • Wilco – studio, live, etc.
  • Phish – late-model studio, vintage live

I’ve been finding that this combination has been very nice on a spiritual level. Granted, other things slip in here in there, like the Jane’s Addiction or the Fugazi, but for the most part I’m up too early in the morning and too tired in the evening to deal with anything too crazy.

Yarr! Damn the Nukes!

Crazy…. I started reading The Sum of All Fears after we got to the hospital when Katie went into labor with Tommy and I finally just finished it a couple of weeks ago. I must say though, it was a very fun read. Super detailed when it comes to describing the re-manufacturing process of a nuclear weapon (albeit with some altered details to keep it from being a cookbook of sorts) as well as the point of detonation. Amazing stuff to say the least.

Now I’m onto an historical account of Captain Kidd, The Pirate Hunter. This one is fairly interesting, as I had no idea about the man himself (or even about the reality of pirates). I’m enjoying again the amount of detail that author Richard Zacks has gleaned from letters, diaries, documents and court papers, and the picture he’s painted of 17th-century Manhattan, London, Indonesia and India (among other places). I must say, In a lot of ways, I’m glad I was born in the 20th Century!

The cool thing about Twitter is that it can deliver up-to-the-minute information from across the Internet. Mostly, this is mundane, random drivel regarding what people are doing. But it’s great when something happens, like a MacWorld keynote or some other global event. The tweets that appear become a gigantic discussion of what’s going on at the moment.

And so it began last night when I got a tweet from Dan Cederholm stating that he’s high-fiving the IE team.

WTH? Where am I?

It’s been a long time since I wrote anything, but I’ve been CRAZY busy.

Renovation, baby, holidays, moving, launch, development, two kids in a new house.

If you really want to know what’s happening, check out the twitter block on the right, or just follow me on twitter.
